Problem with my pc-lagging???

When i turn on my PC it needs almost 5 minutes to start....maybe the problem is that i have both norton intarnet security 2008 and spyware doctor...but i have 20 G free memory and 2048 RAM...MOREOVER i have only three games in PC and i have many times full system scan with norton and spyware doctor could u help me.....giving some ideas what i probably can i download or whatever i could do?THNX

You probably have way too many applications in your startup axis. There are many sites that can help you trim this down to a reasonable level, this is a good one:

Norton Internet Security is a great example of bloatware. Personally, I think you would be better off with individual applications, rather than the suite....JMHO. You didn't mention your OS, processor, memory, etc. There may be many things you could do to speed things up, but, I would bet losing some of your unnecessary startup apps would have the most impact.

Sounds like someone is scanning files when you start up, probably Spyware Doctor. I would recommend you uninstall Spyware Doctor and use Spybot and Ad-Aware instead. Both are free, run them when you like, not at startup.
