what diagnostic program? - CHeck for spyware and virues

good spyware utility Spybot Search and Destroy (be sure its by www.safer-networking.org the reset is likely spyware its self.

if its a legitimate diagnostic program trust it. if its not a spyware/virus problem its very likely hardware. without hardware to swap in and out to test it all you have to trust is the diagnostic. also, carefully re-seat the memory sticks and video card (if youve never been inside a computer then leave the CPU alone.)

From 'Kelly's Tweaks', you need to edit and/or add the following registry keys:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\...

''DisableTaskMgr''=dword:00000000

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\... Policy Objects\LocalUser\Software\Microsoft\Win...

''DisableTaskMgr''=dword:00000000

''**del.DisableTaskMgr''='' ''

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft...

''DisableTaskMgr''=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft... NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]

''DisableCAD''=dword:00000000,

Also, from same website:

Taskmgr.exe should be listed in the %SystemRoot%\system32 directory. If you cannot find the file, you can extract it from the Windows XP CD. To do so, you can perform the following steps:

a. Insert your Windows XP CD into your CD-ROM.

b. Click Start, Run, type cmd and press Enter.

c. At the Command Prompt mode, type the following command:

For example, if the drive letter of your CD-ROM is F, you can type the following commands:

My computer is running too slow what can i do to ';tweek'; it up to run faster?

My computer is running too slow what can i do to ''tweek'' it up to run faster?photoshop

I would suspect Spyware. I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search %26 Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.

This double whammy will help keep you safe and running faster.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

you should start it out on the treadmill then gradually increase the speed. Over time it will get faster.
Services You Can Disable

There are quite a few services you can disable from starting automatically.

This would be to speed up your boot time and free resources.

They are only suggestions so I suggestion you read the description of each one when you run Services

and that you turn them off one at a time.

Some possibilities are:

Alerter

Application Management

Clipbook

Fast UserSwitching

Human Interface Devices

Are you worried about security?

I am pretty convinced that there is nothing in this password hacking rumour floating around. This is far more difficult to do than you might imagine and I still think it is miss-information. BUT, that’s just my opinion.

For the sake of argument and assuming you did not give out your password online let’s assume that your PC may be compromised. CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD WILL NOT HELP!!!

Here are some simple steps.

Delete all of your offline browser content and internet cache.

Refer to the online help of whichever Internet browser you are using.

Download a program to scan for ‘Malware / Spyware?br> A recommend ‘Adaware Free?from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

But there are others. Even Microsoft has one.

Make sure you have up to date Antivirus definition files installed.

Never open unknown email attachments.

Never go to a web site because someone on here tells you to have a look.

You should be all set.

I believe you are wrong about the password thing. I cannot access my triptipper account so have just had to set this one up to warn people. Why can't I get into my email account then??

I cannot get in with my changed password so someone has obviously accessed my account and changed the password to stop me getting in. I have had to submit a post above in case the person in my account starts to send abusive emails from me which are not from me. I am totally fed up with this site...

  • girl tell you she likes you
  • teenagers to have acene
  • Symantec Email Proxy' CONSTANT Pop Ups!!!?

    I keep getting constant streams of symantec email proxy pop ups telling me there are errors sending different advertisements from insurance to pens to rolexs to random email addresses, totally flooding my screen every 30 seconds or so, does anybody know a free, easy to downlaod spyware that can actually delete viruses, or tell me why on earth this is happening!? - Joe

    Use both of these. They are both free and do a good job for removing that stuff.

    Why dose windows on my toshiba laptop keep crashing?

    i have recently purchased a toshiba sattelite a105-s4334. the system is free of viruses and spyware and everything else. i have wiped my system and and re-instaled windows. that only helped. it only crashes if it has been on for a long time. it is not over heating i checked that. can some body please help me on what is wrong?

    Why dose windows on my toshiba laptop keep crashing?antivirus scan

    Hi. Looks like a good machine. When you say crash that usually means BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death). Is that the case? If you are using a valid copy of Windows XP then crashes should be rare. If you have a hardware conflict (rare) that might do it. Check the Task Manager and see if you have any suspicious processes running.

    Why dose windows on my toshiba laptop keep crashing?computer security

    nice machine. if you just bought it and are having these types of problems I would definitely send it back for a refund asap and buy another. do this before you reach 90 days.
    I had a similar problem and someone referred me to a website where i got a lot of help from. check it out. it's www.educateyourselfcdroms.com. copy it and paste it on your url address bar.
    i think i have the same laptop, maybe its the account ur using. when i used another account that i newly made, my laptop stopped crashing. it could be that ur only scanning one account instead of every account in ur laptop. if ur laptop is still under warranty, now would be the time to use that.
    maybe you have too many windows

    Where do people get all these cool msn emoticons?!?!?antivirus software

    search for free msn emoticons on google. But make sure you dont download them.. these ones include viruses. You should just be able to right clik and save the file. thn add the emoticon using msn. This way you cant get a virus, just avoid downloading packs. Try mess.be :)
