How do i download DVDs onto a Mac OS 10 (i think thats wat its called)?

i have a DVD and i want to put it onto my computer on iTunes or Quicktime or sumthing. how do I do it? if I just put the DVD in, won't it play the movie? i want to be able to watch it without the DVD. is there a program that I need or sumhing? preferably free and computer safe (ie... no viruses, spyware) thnx

Since there are no MacOs X viruses, you can't get one. Yes you need software to put the DVD on your computer. Go to www.macworld.com and check what they have, I can't remember the name for it. It is freeware.
