The fan in my computer won't stop.?

As soon as I turn my computer on the fan starts and won't turn off. Before, it would only turn on if I had a lot of programs running at the same time.

HP Intel Dual processor 2.6 ghz each

2 gig ram

80/250 gbs free

I've scanned for viruses and spyware with McAfee and Adaware and nothing comes up.

Like everyone else said, you do have a heat issues. Be CAREFUL when opening up your computer though, make sure you are grounded, or you can fry your computer. I suggest unplugging your cpu, setting it on the floor, then sitting down on the floor with it, dont wear socks, they create electricity, and you are more likely to "shock" something. Touch something to get the shock out of your body after you sit down, if you have a shock at all, likely though you will not this time of year. Take the side of the cpu off, and use the compressed air to knock out the dust, do not touch the motherboard with your hands, or you can ruin it. Dont be nervous though, just blow out the dust, and put the side back on, plug it in, and voila. Hope this helps!!!
